One of the best things about being a mentor for start-up companies at an incubator is the chance to meet new people, entrepreneurs as well as staff, other mentors and investors.

Yesterday I went to a First Tuesday event at UBIC and did what I thought was a nice succinct presentation on the lessons to be learned from the film The Social Network. I happily stood down from the platform after five minutes and spent the next hour talking to a whole variety of people about their business ideas and issues.

Business cards have been exchanged. We have LinkedIn and maybe even arranged a couple of coffee dates.

It is exactly how business at this scale should work.
